Rooms are delightfully furnished with candy-striped wallpaper and coordinated drapes, dust ruffles and bedspreads. Poster beds are carved in dark woods, and overstuffed armchairs complete the cozy
picture. Room service, a restaurant, and the popular
Dubliner
bar provide classic cuisine with an Irish influence. |

For the last two years the SCP has taken over most of this hotel, and this year we have the same block of rooms again. Make your reservations by calling Toll Free 1 (800) 824-5419. If you are calling with the Greater Metropolitan Washington, DC area, dial (202) 638-6900. *
* * JUST DOWNSTAIRS from our block of rooms at the Phoenix Park Hotel is another local treasure, the Dubliner Irish pub. Established in 1974, the Dubliner has become a veritable Washington institution in a city where bars come and go with the latest fads. For those staying at the hotel,
breakfast
is served at the Dubliner
from 7:00am to 10:30am, and drinks are available from the bar after
11:00am. Try Old Dubliner Amber Alean SCP favoriteor the new
Dubliner Irish Lager, brewed especially for the Dubliner and first
poured in October 2000. |

And even if you check out of the hotel on January 1st, 2002,, be sure to stay around for our 3d annual "Day After" party at the Dubliner! This has grown into a must-do event and we have to do it again. This year features music by The Players starting at 2:00pm. Over the years, the Dubliner has expanded to become a hub of Irish hospitality in America, welcoming guests who recognize that, in the words of the great Irish statesman Daniel O'Connell, The hospitality of an Irishman springslike all of his qualities, his faults, and his virtuesdirectly from his heart.
