14 DAYS `TIL MIDNIGHT AT THE DISTRICT CHOPHOUSE MEZZANINE (12/17)
In case you haven't heard, we're almost done with all those years
that started with "19"!
Help us raise a glass to the whole lot of them this Friday, December
17th, from 6:00pm to 9:00pm, as the SCP countdown to the Millennium
Year continues on the popular mezzanine level of the District
ChopHouse!
The SCP has reserved the entire upstairs for these three prime time
hours this Friday, and---in addition to the elbow room---we will be
providing a variety of delectable hors d'oeuvres for carnivores and
vegetarians alike, and free use of the ChopHouse's high quality
billiards tables.
Sample the microbrewed Pilsner, Amber, Nut Brown, Oatmeal Stout,
Wheat, Brewer's Mark, Bourbon Stout, and the latest batch from the
mysterious "Cask Two" (for more on the ChopHouse beer selection,
see http://yp.washingtonpost.com/yp/dcchophouse/5.html).
So stop by for a bit of holiday cheer after work or on your way to
your first holiday party of the night! If our recent events at the
Rock Bottom Brewery in Ballston, Sequoia, and Thompsons Boat House
are any indication, we expect this happening to be another hit.
There will be a $10 cover for food, pool, and to close down the
space. Drinks will be available on a cash bar basis. The SCP will
cover service and gratuity. Any proceeds cleared from this event
will be donated to charity. The first ten (10) people to this happy
hour will win an SCP Y2K survival kit (estimated value unknown).
In the spirit of the holidays, happy hour guests are also invited
to bring a children's toy or a canned food item for us to donate to
charity, but your good cheer is all that is required. And, please,
fellas, that can of lima beans that expired 2 years ago isn't
even worth bringing, so do us a favor . . .
The District ChopHouse and Brewery is located by the MCI Center at
509 Seventh Street NW, Washington, DC 20004.
For directions, please call the ChopHouse at (202) 347-3434. For an
online map, see http://yp.washingtonpost.com/yp/dcchophouse/2.html.
For more on the District ChopHouse, visit their Washington Post
Yellow Pages site at http://www.districtchophouse.com.
