HeartThrob Ball Happy Hour at Rock Bottom Ballston (2/17)
______________________________________________________________________
Message forwarded from the AHA HeartThrob Ball Host Committee:
Scene II: HeartThrob Ball Happy Hour at
Rock Bottom Brewery, Ballston
Get an early start on the long President's Day weekend and join us
for the second act of the 2000 HeartThrob Ball story this Thursday,
February 17th, at Ballston's popular Rock Bottom Brewery!
Enjoy $2 microbrewed beer and $3 rail drinks until 9pm---as well as
munchies and $5 off tickets to the big March 25th HeartThrob Ball
at the Reagan Building!
Rock Bottom (http://www.rockbottom.com/html/rb79.html) has quickly
become a part of Arlington's growing nightlife, and we expect this
event to be one of the month's major happenings. The set for this
scene will be the back bar area, so look for us there!
WHEN? Thursday, February 17th, 2000
WHERE? Rock Bottom Brewery
Glebe Wing, Ballston Commons Mall
4238 Wilson Boulevard, No. 1256
Arlington, Virginia 22203
Tel. (703) 516-7688
TIME? 6:30 - 9:00pm
Taste the new brews, ales, and lagers of Arlington's newest pub and
microbrewery! Choose from Potomac Pale Ale, Radio Towers Red, Spout
Run Porter, Ballston Brown, Mother Martha's Lite, and more (see
http://yp.washingtonpost.com/E/V/WASDC/0025/22/79/5.html for a
complete listing of featured beers and ingredients).
Conveniently located near I-66, Route 50, and the Metrorail in
Ballston, Rock Bottom is a great new addition to the booming pub
scene. It also has plenty of room, great food, drink, and music---
and Ballston Commons Mall has levels and levels of cheap garage
parking!
Again, this happy hour is open to all, and there is no cover charge.
This is the perfect event to bring friends to, and it will afford
many chances to mingle with friends, HeartThrob Ball guests, and
the 100+ members of the 2000 Host Committee!
The 2000 HeartThrob Ball will be held on Saturday, March 25th, 2000,
and will feature three contagious sets of music by the Velveteens
(see http://yp.washingtonpost.com/E/E/WASDC/0001/60/92/ for a recent
Washington Post review of the band). The event will take place again
at the colossal and ever-improving Ronald Reagan Building, and we
think the fact that Party Digest gave last year's event a bad review
be a sign to everyone that if they didn't go last year, they should
definitely go this year. This year's new committee members and hosts
are committed to continuing the tradition of upgrading and updating
the Ball, and building on the great record of success this event has
enjoyed.
For pictures from last year's HeartThrob Ball, see the Monthly Buzz
photo album at http://www.monthlybuzz.com/dc/events/032799/index.html.
All proceeds will benefit the American Heart Association. See our new
Website at http://www.HeartThrobBall.com for more and to purchase
tickets online using your credit card.
One more warm-up event will be held before the Ball on March 10th.
Stay tuned for details, but mark your calendars now!
