The 2d Annual University Row at Spring Gold Cup Is Almost Here! (5/6)
As seen in the
Monthly Buzz!
Soon the tents will be pitched and the buses will be fueled. Ice will
be thrown into the coolers, garnishes will be sliced, kegs will be
tapped, and food will be grilled, cooked, sauteed, and baked. And
while ladies in hats no one has seen before and grown men in shorts
and ties place wagers, jockeys will calm their horses and rehearse
in their minds the races just ahead of them.
C'mon! It's time to get in the mood! Whether it's bright sunshine or
cloudy, whether the wind blows or hangs calm and quiet, the Races
will go on! And one way or another, Gold Cup is always a blast.

Join the W & M tent at the 2d annual University Row of alumni tents
with UVa, Virginia Tech, James Madison University, and other local
alumni chapters!
Last year, over 150 alumni, friends, and family joined us as we made
our way to The Plains, Virginia. This year is the 75th running of
the Gold Cup, one of the most prestigious steeplechase races in the
country, and we expect the combined attendance at University Row
tents to exceed 500 people. We'll have great food, beverages (and
other libations), and, of course, great intercollegiate camaraderie!
W & M has two buses again this year, and we will be on the North Rail
again, which has been the central social location of Gold Cup for the
past several years.
