Leave work early! Tell your boss you'll be in late on Friday. Next Thursday is the start of the official slide to the Labor Day weekend and you can show your support for the Labor movement by celebrating early with us! Join the SCP and Society Ties on Thursday, August 30th, from 6:00pm until closing as we help Rock Bottom Ballston celebrate its two-year anniversary with a bash to benefit research through the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Celebrity beer tapping at 7:00pm. Buy one Anniversary Ale pint glass for $4.95 and get $2 refills all nightand 50 cents from each Ale purchased benefits LLS, so if you ever needed an excuse to drink, here is a good one!Live music by The Reflex, featuring your favorite hits of the 1980s, will start after the tapping ceremony. Prizes that will be raffled include weekend packages, Jimmy Buffet concert tickets, gift certificates, and much more! SOCIETY TIES is the young volunteer network of the National Capital Area Chapter of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. ST events help raise funds and awareness for Leukemia research, the leading form of cancer in men and women under 35.The Grand Opening of Rock Bottom Ballston on September 2d, 1999, was our first event with Society Ties, so this night also marks two years of partying with ST in support of a good cause.Conveniently located to I-66, Route 50, DC, and Arlington, Rock Bottom is a great new addition to the booming Arlington pub scene.
